The mission of Cornerstones Community Partnerships is to work in partnership with communities to restore historic structures, encourage traditional building practices and affirm cultural values. In the past 22 years, over 300 communities have been served and over 400 young people have participated in youth training programs to restore historic structures. Cornerstones works primarily with rural communities throughout New Mexico and the Southwest.
Currently, a major project is the restoration of San Miguel Chapel in Santa Fe. The Chapel is known as the "oldest church" and is an excellent example of early Spanish Colonial architecture incorporating regional elements of adobe design.
